1.0 GENERAL RULES (updated June 9th, 2020)

1. The qualification for membership shall be as approved by the ISOLA.
2. Any professionally qualified Landscape Architect with a post-graduate (Masters) degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution may apply for ISOLA membership.
3. Only Indian nationals and OCI/ PIO card holders are eligible to be members of the ISOLA.

   7. School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal (SPA, Bhopal)
   8. Sushant School of Architecture, Ansal University, Gurugram (SSAA, Gurugram)
   9. Manipal University Jaipur
   10. M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology , Bangalore
   11. School of Planning and Architecture,VIjayawada
   12. Smt. Kashibai Navle College of Architecture, Pune
5. Other educational institutions recognized by IFLA.
6. All educational programs / educational qualifications for enrolment are subject to the approval of ISOLA.

2.0 MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES:

1. Fellow Member
   An individual who has successfully completed an approved course in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution and has been actively engaged for a period of not less than ten (10) years, in practice, teaching or research in the profession of Landscape Architecture.
2. Associate Member
   An individual who has successfully completed an approved course in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in practice, teaching or research in the profession of Landscape Architecture. After ten years, he/she will need to upgrade to a Fellow Member.
3. Graduate Member
   An individual who has successfully completed an approved course in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution and is actively engaged in the profession/teaching of Landscape Architecture. A member can remain a graduate member for a maximum period of three years. After three years, he/she will need to upgrade to an Associate Member.
4. Student Member
   A bonafide student pursuing an approved full-time course in Landscape Architecture at a recognized institution / at a college or institution recognized by ISOLA. Student members must upgrade to graduate category as soon as they complete their course. Student membership will be valid for 1 year after graduation, i.e., 3 years from joining the course. For e.g., if graduating exams are cleared in May of 2015, student membership will not be valid beyond 31st of March 2016.

3.0 MEMBERSHIP FEES:

1. Entrance Fee: Rs.500
2. Change of Category Fee: Rs.500 (from one category to the next tier)
3. Annual Fees:
   1. Fellow Member :      Rs. 4,000
   2. Associate Member:  Rs. 2,500
   3. Graduate Member : Rs. 1,500
   4. Student Member :    Rs. 750
4. Late Fee Penalty
   Membership fees are due by the 31st of March for the upcoming year. After a grace period of three months, till 30th of June, a penalty of 10% will be applicable on the membership fees for that year starting in April 2016.
5. Discounted Membership Scheme (valid till 31st of March, 2025)
   Pay for 2 years and get membership for 1 additional year free (in the same membership category).
   Scheme is applicable for all members in their respective categories. Only those student members who take membership in their first year of study are included in this scheme.
6. For change of category, a category change fee is applicable, and the free year is counted as the first year, and not the last. For example if a member renews his membership in the third year of his graduate membership and then moves to associate category, he will have to pay a fee amounting to total of category change fee + 2 years associate membership fees. The year of his graduate category membership will be considered free.
7. Amnesty Membership Scheme (valid till 31st of March, 2025)
   Lapsed memberships can be renewed (lapsed for more than 2 years) at a payment of one year’s fee as penalty charge along with the applicable fees for the current year. One year’s penalty fee payable will be for the category of membership the member is applying for. If there is a change of category, category change fee is applicable. For e.g., If graduate membership has lapsed in 2005, the member will be applying for fellow membership and will have to pay one year penalty for fellow membership (Rs.4000) + fellow membership (Rs.4000) and change category fee (Rs.500).

4.0 MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY AND PAYMENT RULES

1. All membership categories are based on number of years of experience in the field of landscape architecture, practice or academia, on completion of post graduate degree. Category change is mandatory based on seniority.
2. The financial year for ISOLA commences on the 1st of April and ends on the following 31st of March.
   All memberships become due for renewal on the 1st of April every year, irrespective of date of joining.
3. The Discounted Membership and Amnesty Schemes are standalone schemes. They can be used for successive years.
4. All students who wish to register for the ISOLA Students Award should mandatorily be student members during their course of study. They may be student or graduate members at the time of registering for the Awards.
5. Membership of those who wish to stand for ISOLA Executive Council/ Chapter Managing Committee elections have to be valid for the period of the term proposed.
6. The Society is accepting advance subscription for a maximum of three (3) years, as a practice.
7. To upgrade from one category of membership to the other, the member will have to pay the Change of Category Fee and the Annual Fees payable for that category.

1. For example, a student member upgrading to a graduate member will have to pay:

3. Annual Fee for Graduate member = Rs. 1,500
4. Total payable for one year = Rs. 2,000
5. Annual fee for every subsequent year = Rs. 1,500

5.0 ONLINE ACCESS

1. To access Members only sections of the ISOLA website (www.isola.org.in) and the ISOLA membership site (www.isola.smebusinesssoftware.com/login.html) –
2. Valid members must use the login to access the site using the email address registered with ISOLA for Username and Password. After the first login, the password should be changed.
3. Lapsed members must use the Renew Membership tab to access the site for payment of dues. Once renewed, members can access the site through the Login page- update contact information, add a photo, certificates and details and also register for conferences and vote.

6.0 NEW MEMBERS AND MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

1. New Membership
2. To sign-up for ISOLA membership, visit www.isola.smebusinesssoftware.com and the Sign-Up tab. Complete the sign-up form including :
   1. • Name,
   2. • Graduating Institutions and Dates,
   3. • Contact Details,
   4. • Work Experience information, and
   5. • Names of two (2) references who are ISOLA members with their membership no.s (numeric number)
   6. • Upload a clear scanned copy of both Graduation and Post-Graduation Degree certificates
   7.   (For student membership, a bonafide/provisional certificate from the college/ institute and Student ID card must be attached)
3. Once complete, the application must be saved. This will then be reviewed for eligibility and completeness. Applications are reviewed on a weekly basis.
4. Thereafter, an email of acceptance or rejection will be sent out. With the acceptance email a link to the payment gateway will be sent. On payment of the ISOLA fees, a membership number will be allocated.
5. Thereafter, the member has access to the website using the email address registered with ISOLA.

2. To access the membership login, visit www.isola.smebusinesssoftware.com and the Renew Membership tab. Enter the username and password – both are the email address registered with ISOLA. Membership can be updated by payment of fees through the payment page that will come up.
